The Lunar New Year is an important festival for Taiwanese people, and foreign fishermen who stay in Taiwan to work hard for our fisheries also take advantage of the holiday break. To thank the foreign fishermen for their contributions, the San-Jiao-Hu (Seine) Fishing Boat Crew Association in Nanfang'ao held a Spring Festival Concert for Foreign Fishermen on the 18th. In addition to the wonderful performances by the fishermen, the Su-Ao Fishermen's Association provided abundant raffle prizes, making the event lively and bustling.

The splendid Foreign Fishermen Concert was specially held at the No.3 Auction Market for the Su-Ao District Fishermen's Association. Turmeric rice was distributed at the event, allowing Indonesian migrant workers who have traveled far to Taiwan to enjoy the taste of home. The fishermen took to the stage to perform their favorite songs, with some singing unaccompanied and others playing instruments while they sang, showcasing talents on par with professional singers. The highlight of the event was the raffle.

TSAI, Yuan-Lung, the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Su-Ao District Fishermen's Association, one of the event's sponsors, stated that this lively concert was a spontaneous entertainment activity initiated by Indonesian fishermen. Many professional Indonesian singers from Taipei were also invited to join the celebration. The Lunar New Year coincides with the fishing off-season for the San-Jiao-Hu fishing boats. The Association chose this time to participate and sponsor the event mainly to thank the fishermen for traveling across the ocean to support Taiwan's fisheries. By providing raffle prizes, the Association aimed to make the fishermen happy and show their appreciation for the foreign fishermen's contributions.

The Foreign Fishermen Concert attracted more than 300 fishermen, who enjoyed the music and socialized together. Around 150 foreign migrant workers were present at the event. After the gloom of last year's pandemic, this year the event was expanded, allowing more migrant worker friends to know that every Lunar New Year in Nanfang'ao, such activities are held for fishermen to experience the warm hospitality of Taiwan's Lunar New Year celebrations.
